International Students Cope With Eating American Cuisine...
Summary Paragraph: One of the many issues that international students face is coping with American food. With food being linked to culture, international students must face one of the hardest tasks when coming to America, eating someone elseââ¬â¢s culture while neglecting their own. In this research project, I will investigate how international students cope with eating American cuisine or what measures they take to avoid it. Introduction: Nothing represents a culture better than food. Food is the fastest way for people to bond and experience one anotherââ¬â¢s culture. Thousands of students travel from international colleges and universities. These people spend most of their life eating different foods, foods that they are accustomed to and are naturally born to like. Before starting college, I never gave any thought of how international students feel about consuming food of another culture for entire year or in some cases, for multiple years. This is what gave me the idea to study the culture of international students, including their practices and daily routines. According to The Kansas State Collegian [daily newspaper at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas], international students attending the University share a fear of gaining weight from eating American food. American food is portrayed to them as ââ¬Ëgreasyââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ënot very diverseââ¬â¢.
